I believe that len(((*T)(nil)).X) is a valid constant (array length).

g% go tool gotype
package main
import "runtime"
const c = len(((*runtime.MemStats)(nil)).PauseNs)
^D
<standard input>:5:11: len(((*runtime.MemStats)(nil)).PauseNs) (value of type int)
is not constant
