Unfortunately the people who control the go.dev website think otherwise. This is a dup of #39850, see the comments there for a link to a mailing list discussion about the matter. The bottom line -if you don't feel like reading the whole thing- is that the banner won't be removed.

I am glad to see fellow engineers who are not afraid to express their opinions on "Black Lives Matter". Not touching on the controversy around the movement itself, I am sure many agree that software engineering is a domain especially distant from the racial agenda. Provocative banners does not belong here. Can you imagine a website for medical professionals with "Black Lives Matter" in the header? How anecdotal would it be? |

I wanted to check some documentation, saw a Black Lives Matter banner and was about to puke.
What did you expect to see?
No political propaganda on a programming language web site. Have some respect for your users and don't shove your liberal left wing agenda in their face. Keep in mind that for the vast majority of your international users that means nothing. If you are so insistent to vomit your politics on your users at least give them a choice to disable the banner.
What did you see instead?
An irrelevant biased propaganda where it doesn't belong.
