At https://github.com/golang/go/blob/master/src/cmd/compile/internal/ssa/regalloc.go#L1249 there is a comment: // Check. TODO: remove. Follow through, or maybe only do the check when we're also doing the other SSA checks.

Leaving milestone decision to @randall77.
