Hi Alex,

Thanks for fixing these.  It would be great to have
a single copy of the comments.  In some other
packages I have taken to writing a file doc.go in this
situation that would, in this case, contain things like

// Hostname returns the computer name reported by the OS.
func Hostname() (name string, err error) {
    return hostname()
}

and then make the OS-specific implementations be the
lower-case version, so that comments don't have to be
written and maintained in multiple places.

Can you give that a shot here?
